IT BEGAN WITH THE LAND
Mustard Creek Vineyard began with the land. Before coming into our hands in 2022, the vines were nurtured by Peachy Canyon Winery - developing deep roots in the soil and legacy of Paso Robles. Producing award-winning wines, powered by farming with intention and in connection with the land. The vines thrived, and became the exclusive source for Peachy Canyon’s Mustard Creek designate wine.
So, how did we (Cole & Meghan) get here two decades later?!
INTRODUCED TO WINE THROUGH A GLASS OF PASO ZIN.
NOW GROWING, NURTURING, AND FERMENTING OUR OWN.
From 2011 to 2015, Cole lived in San Luis Obispo, attending Cal Poly and working in Paso Robles - yet had no idea that a booming wine scene surrounded him. That changed in 2016, when he met (his now wife), Meghan. Meghan’s parents introduced Cole to the world of Paso wine, and a single glass of Paso Zin - aka Elixir of the Gods - was the gateway.
The pair’s wedding at a Paso winery in 2021 solidified their bond with the region - and they were hit with the feeling that this is where they’re meant to be.
Discovering Mustard Creek Vineyard felt serendipitous. It was time to make the jump. So with baby Liam in tow, they packed up their bags and moved into the barn on the property. Fully diving in head first into the art and science of grape growing. No turning back now!
Now, more than two decades after the Zinfandel and Petite Sirah were planted here, they’re honored to now carry the torch - building on the legacy first cultivated by Peachy Canyon. Bringing it into a new era, and calling this vineyard home.
In 2024, Mustard Creek fruit hit the open market for the first time. And it didn’t stick around for long. We found amazing winery partners, and every last cluster found a home.
We also kept a few bins for ourselves, curious to see what our fruit would taste like in our own hands.
That’s how the Extended Play – 2025 Collection was born. Our first wines. Playful. Experimental. A reflection of the land that started it all.
